Singer Rihanna has been announced as the headline of the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show today by the NFL. The singer had declined the invite in 2019 to support quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick.

"Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn," Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, whose Roc Nation is an executive producer of the show, said in a statement. "A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment."

The Super Bowl LVII will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Feb. 12, 2023.

Both the NFL and "Riri" posted on Instagram and Twitter to let their followers know, and they were glad to hear the good news:

With over 250 million records sold worldwide, Rihanna ranks as one of the best-selling female artists of all time. Her last album, Anti, was released in 2016.
