MUM AND TWO CHILDREN AGED 4 AND 6 DEAD IN KETTERING - 52 YEAR OLD MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF MURDER

The woman was declared dead at the scene, at a residential house in Petherton Court.

Tragically, her son and daughter, aged six and four, were found with serious injuries and died shortly after being taken to hospital.

A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at around 1.30pm.

One local resident said that a man was seen:

"covered in blood"

as he was led away by police officers.

With less than two weeks to go before Christmas, the news has shocked the community.

One neighbour said:

"We're all very distressed"

Local Policing Area Commander Superintendent Steve Freeman, said:

«There are no words to describe how upsetting this incident is but I want to reassure the public that we have a team of detectives working on the case, absolutely determined to get justice for this woman and the two children"

Forensic post-mortem examinations to establish the cause of death will be taking place in the coming days.
