MUSK SUSPENDS JOURNALIST'S ACCOUNTS WITHOUT WARNING

There have been a number of prominent journalists who appear to have been suspended or banned from the platform without explanation. What's more interesting is that these journalists have reported on twitter and its new chief executive Elon Musk. The accounts were all suspended in abrupt series on Thursday night and included journalists from CNN, Mashable, New York times and the Washington Post and all accounts were suspended without warning or explanation.

The suspensions have raised questions over Musk's stated commitment to 'free speech and his decision to supress accounts that he personally dislikes.

In addition accounts on rival social media company, Mastodon, where it is reported that some Twitter users have migrated after Musks's takeover of Twitter, have also been suspended.

In response to the suspensions Twitter's head of trust and safety stated, 'Without commenting on any specific accounts, I can confirm that we will suspend any accounts that violate our privacy policies and put other users at risk.'
