DILLIAN WHYTE FRONTRUNNER TO FACE AJ

British heavyweight and former world title challenger Dillian Whyte is in line to take on his old rival Anthony Joshua in nearly 2023 according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

Joshua was expected to be taking a warm up fight after taking two straight losses to heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk twice. There was talks of a potential super fight between Joshua and fellow brit and WBC champ Tyson Fury but those talks fell through.

Now it looks as if Whyte will be getting his shot at redemption after losing to Joshua in their fight that took place back in 2015.

AJ won that fight by KO, but they have both gone on to become major stars on the British and world boxing scene. AJ captured multiple world titles and fought all over the world while Whyte won 11 of 12 fights after the Joshua loss to earn a shot at Tyson Fury earlier this year at Wembley.

Whyte still has to get past his opponent, unbeaten American Jermaine franklin, on the 26th of November at Wembley Stadium, but Eddie thinks if he can he'll be in line. He had this to say:
"Probably January or February is where we're looking at. In terms of names, talking to him [Joshua] the other day, he wants to fight Dillian Whyte,"
Hearn told the DAZN Boxing Show.

" I think Dillian Whyte is probably the frontrunner is he comes through [against Franklin]. Otto Wallin is a guy that's reached out numerous times, I think that's a good fight for him as well."
