CONOR BENN LOSES LICENSE

OCT 27, 2022  (7H02)      JAMES SMITH
British boxer Conor Benn has relinquished his British boxing licence after a hearing held by the British boxing board of control upheld allegations of misconduct. Early in October Benn was being investigated by UKAD after he failed a drug test ahead of his grudge match with Chris Eubank Jr. The hearing took place on the 21st of October and Benn gave his license up voluntarily the morning of the hearing.

The boxing match between the two sons of boxing legends Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr, was due to take place on the 8th of October at a catchweight of 157 pounds, but once Conor tested positive for trace amounts of a banned substance the BBBoC decided to stop the fight as it was not in the interests of boxing.

Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn insists there will be an announcement soon from the the British boxer explaining his failed drugs test

Hearn told talkSPORT on Wednesday:
" In the next, I would think, 48 hours you will see a full statement from Conor Benn around that legal case with his confirmation of all the facts."

" Conor Benn is straight away presumed guilty without any kind of hearing, because that's generally the way it works in this situation and sometimes that's fair, but he's got the big fight on his hands to try and save his career."
