A woman has been found guilty of murdering and decapitating her friend, so she could inherit her estate worth thousands. Jemma Mitchell, 38 hit the victim, Mee Kuen Chong, also known as Deborah on the head with a weapon at her home. She had lived in Wembley, North London, for 30 years.

Mitchell was an expert in human dissection and used those skills to dispose the body of the victim. Her motive to kill was purely financial, although she had recently been diagnosed with schizophrenia, she had been writing letters to the Then Prince of Wales and Boris Johnson.

The Old Bailey was told the women were friendly and knew each other, but a recent falling out over money led to the shocking murder. Mitchell had planned to fake Deborah's will so she could inherit most of her estate, worth more than £700,000. The plan come to mind after Ms. Chong decided against giving Mitchell £200,000 to repair her ruined £4 million family home, the court was told.

A jury at the Old Bailey deliberated for seven hours to find Mitchell guilty of murder. Detective chief inspector Jim Eastwood, who led the investigation, described it as a truly despicable crime.

He said :
"The motivation for Jemma Mitchell's actions was money and she showed a significant degree of planning and calculation as she attempted to cover up her horrific actions. The cold facts of this case are shocking."

She has been sentenced to a minimum of 34 years in prison.
