UNHAPPIEST TOWN IN UK - NO CHRISTMAS CHEER OR LIGHTS HERE

A small town in England has been as the UK's "unhappiest town" in the country after a poll of more than 300 towns and cities was ranked. Local residents have damned the place as being an "intimidating s***hole" with no Christmas cheer due to a lack of Christmas lights.

The Town in question is Boston, Lincolnshire. Boston Borough Council in charge have reportedly splurged £20,000 on a huge plastic Christmas tree in the town centre but bizarrely has refused to put up any lights, leaving residents less than impressed with the festivities. The town was

A local resident and Chip shop worker Charlotte Heaton said:

"Boston is a s***hole. I would love to leave but I can't leave because my family are here. Who would be happy living here? There's nothing for the kids to do and the only park in town is full of broken play equipment. It can be an intimidating place."

Another resident Mark Pearce, a café owner in the area, has commented that local business have offered to help with the lights and electricity, but the council have still refused and claims the council are acting as scrooge.

In reply the council have stated that they simply cannot afford it due to funding cuts, with town Mayor Councillor Anne Dorrian labelling the situation a "complete and utter omnishambles."
