TREBLE WINNING SIDE VOTED GREATEST PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM

Manchester United's treble winning 1999 team was voted the best Premier League team of all time. They came out on top over over Arsenal's Invincibles followed by Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

After 235,776 votes were cast United's treble winners just managed to pip the Invincibles, who went undefeated for an entire League campaign and a run that lasted 49 games. Man City's centurions, who managed a record 100 points came in third while Liverpool's first League title in 30 years and a 99 point season gave them 4th.



United managed to win the Premier League, FA Cup ,and the Champions League, all in a ten day period, something that is yet to be repeated since. Players like David Beckham, Gary Neville Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt were all young players that stepped up to the mark that season. They also had a lethal 4 man forward line with Dwight York, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.


They also had an amazing ability to come from behind and win, beating Spurs in the final day of the season after going behind, to secure the League title and coming from behind to Arsenal in the Fa Cup semi final to win.

And then of course, who can forget the Red Devils' run to Champions League glory. In the semi-final second leg against Juventus they were 2-0 down early on before Roy Keane inspired a sensational 3-2 win in Turin.

United memorably scored twice in stoppage time to beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final at the Nou Camp, with the game one of the most famous in football history.
