TRAVEL CHAOS AS M25 CRASH CREATES NINE-MILE QUEUES IN FREEZING WEATHER CONDITIONS

A traffic collision on the M25 anticlockwise has created travel chaos for motorists in the freezing conditions this morning.

It has been reported that there are up to nine miles of tailbacks on the om two miles before the Reigate Junction 8 the A217 to Godstone at Junction J6 the A22.

It is reported that the incident occurred shortly before 7am this morning a short distance after Junction 7 for the M23. The collision is said to have caused a 30 minute delay at the scene for drivers before they were able to continue their journey.

Reports have come in that from 9 am the impacted traffic had started to dissipate and return to normal levels.


The freezing temperatures ice and snow have lead to a yellow weather warning when the national forecaster began at 9am yesterday and warned that "lying snow and icy patches will lead to difficult travel conditions during Monday and into Tuesday"
