TAYLOR SWIFT EDITS VIDEO AFTER CALLS OF FAT SHAMING

BY JAMES SMITH
Pop superstar Taylor Swift has edited part of her new music video "Anti-hero" due to claims is was fatphobic. In the new version you cannot see what the scales say.

But in the original, Swift steps on the scales and they read "FAT", as her alter ego shakes her head, in what seems disappointment. Some critics had suggested it was fatphobic and using the word fat negatively reinforced that the word is something bad and shameful. Swift isn't the first to be forced into making changes, singers Lizzo and Beyoncé had to edit for derogatory lyrics.

"Anti-hero" is a track of her new album, Midnights, which was released last week. It has broken the record for most streamed albums on Spotify in one day but that may be slightly overshadowed due to the controversy and criticisms of the new track.
