POLICE BREAK INTO GALLERY TO RESCUE WOMAN WHO TURNS OUT TO BE AN ART INSTALLATION

BY CATHY NICOLE CARR
Police broke down the door of an art gallery after receiving reports of an ‘unconscious' woman inside - only to find that the patient was actually a mannequin in an art installation!

Officers were called to the Laz Emporium in Soho, London after a member of the public called them with concerns that the wmaon had not moved for two hours.

When they realised that the property was locked, they took the door off its hinges – but it wasn't long before the red-faced officers discovered their mistake.

Kristina, by American artist Mark Jenkins, depicts a woman in a yellow hoodie, black trousers and light-coloured trainers collapsed over a table.

Officers have now had "stern words" with the gallery about wasting police time.
