NEXT DAY COURIER SERVICE AXED AS STRIKE CHAOS CONTINUES
BY CATHY NICOLE CARR
Customers who have lost faith that Royal Mail will deliver their items are turning instead to private courier firms, but the deluge is such that even they are beginning to struggle.
A spokesperson from DPD said that the strikes are having:
"a huge knock-on effect across the entire industry."
Counties such as Lancashire and Cheshire are being affected, with deliveries taking up to three days.
Compounding the issue, the extreme weather is also causing delays in some areas of Scotland.
CWU members are next taking strike action on 14th, 15th, 23rd and 24th December, in an escalating row over pay, jobs and conditions.
