MAN BANNED FROM RETURNING TO HOME VILLAGE UNTIL 2037

A dispute over bushes between neighbours has resulted in a 59-year-old man being banned from his home town until he is 74 years old.

Adrian Stairs, 59, who currently resides in Wellingborough said he felt like he had been charged for "murder" after being banned from Blisworth in Northamptonshire.

The issues started in early 2021 when the police started receiving complaints from a neighbour about antisocial behaviour. One of the complaints stated that Stairs used a chainsaw to cut down several mature shrubs in his neighbors' garden, alongside a disputed boundary line. More serious incidents were reported when Stairs also assaulted his neighbors by threatening them with a brick during a dispute in the garden.

The police begun an investigation which lead to Stairs being charged with criminal damage and assault. Stairs was given a restraining order which prevents him from contacting his victims or entering Blisworth until 2037, and was also handed a six-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.

To further the story Stairs absconded from court prior to his sentencing and was rearrested. He was then handed an additional two weeks' suspended imprisonment to run concurrently, alongside an additional 60 day rehabilitation order for absconding from court.
