FIRM LEFT WITH 18000 "ENGLAND WORLD CUP WINNERS 2022" T-SHIRTS AFTER GAMBLE GOES WRONG!

BY CATHY NICOLE CARR
Football fan and Managing Director of Poole based Wholesale Clearance UK, Karl Baxter, was so convinced that England were going to end 56 years of hurt in Qatar that he printed 18000 t-shirts in advance.

The tops are emblazoned with the slogans 'England, Cup Winners 2022, It's Finally Home' and 'The Day It Came Home'.

"We had a load of blank football shirts that we bought a couple of years ago, which we had not done a great deal with, so I decided to take a gamble on the crest of the wave England were riding and get some shirts printed in anticipation of success", said Mr Baxter, 46.

His gamble was not a success, as the Lions crashed out of the competition on Sunday, losing 2-1 to France, and leaving Gareth Southgate "considering his future".

Mr. Baxter currently has the items on his website at www.wholesaleclearance.co.uk, at the bargain price of £179,800 for the lot!
