EUROMILLIONS WIN MADE ME BORED

BY JAMES SMITH
A man that won over 100 million on the lottery has claimed his lifestyle of mansions and cars is boring. Neil Trotter, a mechanic from Coulsdon, scooped a massive £107.9m back in 2014 after telling all his friends and family that he would win big.

He traded in his Ford for a Jaguar and a Porsche when the fortune was won. He also bought a grade ll listed mansion with a lake that had 400 acres of land. But Neil claims his life of luxury is "quite boring."

He said:

"Going from having to work to not having to work any more was quite a strange thing to adjust to. I soon found out that sitting at home watching telly all day was quite boring."

Trotter said Camelot, who run the lottery, warned him not to spend his winnings straight away. But he insists he's still living the dream of winning the lottery and driving fast cars. Back in 2019, he had this to say:

"Being a Trotter, I knew I'd be a millionaire one day – and I somehow knew I'd win the Lottery. I used to tell my dad I'd have a house with a lake, and he'd say, ‘In your dreams, son!"
"I had such a strong feeling on the Friday that I'd win, I told the secretary at work. Winning allowed me to go back to my first love – racing. And I‘ve the house with a lake."

A probably not so serious prediction at his dad's office about this time tomorrow I'll be a millionaire, a phrase used by del boy in the tv show "Only fools and horses", surprisingly came to be true as hours later his lucky dip managed to be the winning ticket and net him a fourth biggest win in the UK at the time.
