36 CHILDREN GIVEN WRONG JAB

A pop up COVID jab clinic has accidently given a higher than normal dosage of COVID vaccine to 36 children. The children, who were aged between 5 and 11, had the vaccination at a children's pop up jab clinic in Start Point, Sholing Southampton on Wednesday

The Solent NHS Trust has apologised and said it was going to take the issue very seriously and shad started an investigation. A mother of two received a call Wednesday evening from the NHS telling her that her children were among those who had been given the wrong dose of the vaccine, she said she was devastated her children had been given the incorrect vaccine.

The mother, who did not want to be named, told the BBC:

"I burst into tears, I was devastated. I'd had concerns about my children getting the jab in the first place but I took them along as I'd do anything in my power to protect them."

"I was told I shouldn't expect anything significant to happen, but any reaction to the jab would last longer. I haven't slept for 48 hours, my anxiety is through the roof."

She did confirm that luckily her children had not experienced any side effects.
